The Tessera weave, stood upright. Nineteen and a half centimetres of raised glass tiles tapering from a narrow base to a squared open rim, every tile painted by hand.

Fill it, put it on a sill, and by mid-afternoon there is as much colour on the wall behind it as there is in the flowers.

Holds a real bunch

600 ml takes seven or eight tulips, a shop-bought bunch of ranunculus, or whatever you have cut from the garden. The squared rim holds stems upright instead of letting them slump to the sides. At 975 g empty, it stays where you put it.

Care

Hand wash in warm water with a soft cloth. Avoid boiling water and sudden temperature changes.

Made by hand

Small bubbles, specks and subtle variations in colour and glass are part of the making process. Measurements may vary by a few millimetres between batches.

Empty, it still earns its place on the shelf.

The vase keeps company with the other two decorative pieces: the Tessera Bowl, wide and open-woven, and the Tessera Candy Jar on its three glass feet.
