Named after the quiet lake town of Hakone, they are the plates for bread, fruit, a single pastry or a slow shared breakfast.

They weigh next to nothing, stack into a stripe in the cupboard and do not need babying. Six diameters run from a saucer to a dinner plate; buy one size or build a nested set.
